This page explains how New Light Church (“New Light,” “we,” or “us”) uses text messaging, and how we protect your mobile number and personal information. It has two parts: our Text Messaging Terms and our Privacy Policy.

Text Messaging Terms

Program description. New Light Church sends text messages to people who have agreed to receive them. Our messages may include: follow-up and welcome messages for first-time guests; communication with ministry and volunteer teams, such as schedules and reminders; church events and announcements; and prayer and pastoral care.

How you agree (opt-in). You agree to receive text messages from New Light Church when you give us your mobile number and consent to texts, either on a paper card or in person with a New Light staff member or volunteer, or through the New Light church app or our messaging platform (Gloo). When you sign up, you will be told that you are agreeing to receive text messages from New Light Church, and we keep a record of when and how you agreed. Agreeing to receive texts is not required to attend New Light Church or to take part in any ministry.

Message frequency. Message frequency varies depending on the groups or lists you are part of. For example, a volunteer team may hear from us more often than someone who only receives church announcements. We will tell you what to expect when you sign up.

Costs. New Light Church does not charge you to receive our text messages. Message and data rates may apply from your mobile carrier, depending on your plan.

How to stop (opt-out). Reply STOP at any time to opt out and stop receiving text messages from us. You may receive one final message confirming that you have been unsubscribed. You can also ask a staff member, call us at (910) 863-3582, or email connect@newlightchurch.info.

Help. Reply HELP to any message for help, or contact us using the information below.

Rejoining. If you opt out and later want to receive texts again, reply START or contact us.

Delivery. Wireless carriers and New Light Church are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages, and delivery is not guaranteed.

Your mobile number. You confirm that you are the subscriber or regular user of the mobile number you give us, or that you have the subscriber’s permission. Please tell us if your number changes so we do not text someone else by mistake.

Changes. We may update these terms from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page shows when they were last changed.

Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you sign up for text messages from New Light Church, how we use it, and the choices you have.

Information we collect. Your name; your mobile phone number; other contact details you choose to give us, such as an email address or mailing address; the groups, lists, or ministry teams you join; the date, time, and method of your opt-in; the messages you send to us and our replies; and basic delivery information from our messaging providers.

How we use it. To send the text messages you agreed to receive; to respond to you; to follow up with first-time guests; to coordinate ministry teams and events; to keep records of consent and opt-outs; and to protect our messaging program and follow the law.

We do not sell or share your number for marketing. We do not sell, rent, or share your mobile phone number or text messaging opt-in information with third parties or affiliates for their marketing or promotional purposes. Text messaging opt-in data and consent will not be shared with any third parties, except the service providers described below.

Service providers. We use service providers, such as our messaging platform (Gloo) and our church app provider, to send and manage text messages on our behalf. They handle your information only to help us deliver and manage our messages. We may also disclose information if the law requires it or to protect someone’s safety.

How long we keep it. We keep your information while you are on our lists and as long as we need it for our records, including proof of your consent. You can ask us to delete your information at any time.

Security. We take reasonable steps to protect your information. No method of storing or sending information is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Your choices. You can stop text messages at any time by replying STOP. You can also contact us to ask what information we have about you, to correct it, or to have it deleted.

Parents and guardians. If you give us a child’s mobile number, you confirm that you are permitted to do so and that you agree to text messages on the child’s behalf.

Our website. Our website, newlight.network, uses Google Analytics to help us understand how many people visit and which pages they view. Google may use cookies or similar technologies for this purpose.

Changes. We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page shows when it was last changed.
